Rounding Up Last Week From Layoffs to Happiness

Posted by Sravan | January 26, 2009 .

Last week saw big layoffs in the tech industry and the NYTimes reports about many more to come this week.

Adobe is conducting a survey about the website usability. Think we had a tiny role in pushing it? Whatever, please take the survey when requested. It is small, hardly takes five minutes, and I believe that it can do some good. Also, the Flex SDK team is conducting a feedback session in two more days to hear from the community about the Flex SDK itself and the current management of the open source project. Do pass the message around.

Scott Barnes diggs Silverlight Spy. The changes in his blog template are impressive, but I’m not too happy with them. One thing, it takes too damn long to load a page, and longer to post a comment.

Meanwhile, riaflex did a small study comparing Adobe Flex and Microsoft Silverlight. There is a good discussion building on one of the posts. Could you add something to it?

Ryan, mountaineering in Japan, tells us about the nVidia contest of pixel bender filters. There are big prizes waiting to be earned.

Kevin Hoyt gifts us 75 JavaScript AIR samples. That is very generous of you, Kevin. Thank you. (via) We all win a prize for nothing.

Aral created a small sensation on Twitter with the “What makes you happy?” campaign. I loved it.
