Rounding Up Last Week From Super Bowl to Australian Bushfire

Posted by Sravan | February 9, 2009 .

The NYTimes created a little map built around Twitter showing the location and frequency of commonly used words in Super Bowl related messages. I’m impressed.

Ted announced the launch of new apps on Adobe Groups and promises of more in the near future. Jens shared the presentation of his talk about real-time 3D on the web.

Ethan Eismann thinks that reflexivity should coexist with iteration in design practice. Ryan thinks that status is useless without location and that everything on Facebook should be “geoized”. Good that I don’t use Facebook; I prefer the mystery. :)

WaiLam of the Flash Enabled Blog discovered a feature-rich video player called Flowplayer that he absolutely Diggs. He is impressed with its usability and user-friendliness in setting it up on a website.

Desmond Edwards wrote a very useful article about system tray icons for AIR apps. He is the creator of DeskTube, an AIR app alternative for Youtube. I tried using the app. Great UI; the streaming seemed slower than normal.

Adobe Photoshop does not support the printing of banknote images. Now I must chalk out an entirely new plan to get rich.

Within hours of the news of the Australian bushfire, two Geoweb apps, both created using Flex, spread around the RIA world as fast as the fire itself. One of my fellow bloggers lost her home and pets in another recent fire. :( These fires are stupid.
