Google is under attack lately. Wolfram’s WolframAlpha was cheered as Google search killer, after years of selling not so hot but big book, A New Kind of Science. And then, Microsoft came out to spoil Google I/O with the Bing announcement. But do you see the difference between WolframAlpha and Bing?
I do, the Bing is out without a bang.
I’m not sure what the Microsoft guys usually eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner or other pills or substance. But seems they were not thinking straight. If you don’t have anything to show, what’s the point of shouting out to just gain 5 min of fame. At least I can play with WalframAlpha and got some impressive surprise out of it, even though I went right back to Google (which is getting more evil daily) for searching. There are just way too many tech toys these days. I don’t think I care that much a void announcement.

It’s Wolfram
I haven’t given it enough time, but WolframAlpha does seem to have some fans. It is just that it is targeting a niche and thus can not be as big as the “usual” search engine.
Could you elaborate on the “Google becoming more evil daily” comment there, Charles? Thanks.
