Adobe ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion Builder Here

Posted by Sravan | July 14, 2009 .

image thumb1 Adobe ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion Builder Here Adobe released ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion Builder public betas yesterday. The two new releases are a step closer to integration with the Adobe Flash platform since support for Adobe Flex (along with AJAX) started with the previous version.

ColdFusion 9 comes with support for Adobe AIR applications including local/remote database synchronization, but most importantly has several internal functionalities being exposed as services. ColdFusion 9 also comes with an AIR app for managing multiple ColdFusion servers from a single location.

ColdFusion Builder is the first ColdFusion IDE, Eclipse-based, thus deeply integrating with Flash Builder. ColdFusion Builder in combination with Flash Builder is designed to simplify workflow and development in Flash-based apps, ideal for RIA development in enterprise environments. It includes support for applications built using ColdFusion 7 and 8. Apart from the usual Eclipse plugins that readily work with ColdFusion Builder, its extensibility model allows extensions to be written in CFML and there are already several of them readily available on RIAForge.

Read Ben Forta’s articles on Cold Fusion 9 and ColdFusion IDE for a quick introduction.

ColdFusion is one of the only products I am yet to try from Adobe.

I notice this article was quite a while ago – I would be interested to hear from people that used this and whether they got rid of the bugs in 9?
