Nomee is an AIR app that attempts to be a one-stop-shop for all social networking. Similar to Skimmer, I initially thought. Back in April when it had entered public beta, I was unimpressed. The concept of Nomee cards was quite confusing and the need to explicitly share cards with friends soured the experience. Three months later, Charles’ experience wasn’t any better either.
However, Nomee’s willingness to recieve feedback and regularly update has been a great plus for the app. Nomee’s latest release came out only this week with several new features, and since its first public beta version it has greatly improved its resource utilization.
Here is what all one can do with it:
The “follow” feature needs a major enhancement, which is quite easy: Nomee like the numerous Twitter clients should allow users to view all tweets from the users they follow, not just those who also have nomee accounts. I think this is about to happen thanks to it adapting openID. In addition, “unfollow” is a much-needed feature. Because viewing images and videos from within the app is possible, it should allow the user to resize windows and also read blog posts (or news items) from within the app instead of launching a new tab in the browser.
If it can achieve these, I will be more than willing to make Nomee my one-stop-shop for everything social networking.

Thanks for the 2nd look, we are listening and already working on some of the enhancement ideas you had. You should see them appear in the next 2 or 3 updates. If you ever think of more ideas, suggestions, etc.. Just let us know.
Keep them coming, Mike.
