Pictaculous goes to the reversed way to find you a perfect color palette. You submit an image file and it comes up with a color palette. You can also download the Adobe Swatch file to be used by the Adobe Photoshop. I think this is really clever and much better way to figure out the matching color scheme.
When you are developing a media rich RIA system, as a creative designer or a Flex developer, you have so many ways to design the UI. However, you may not have too much room to change the color tune of the images you’d like to use. So, why not pick the color scheme based on the images? That’s where the Pictaculous comes in.
Apparently it uses Adobe Kuler and Colour Lovers for additional suggestions. I love both of the color picking services. Most of the time, choosing the right color scheme for a RIA can solve 80% of your UI design hurdles. So, get the color right before tackling the shapes and layouts.
