It seems everyone on the web is going after the advertisement money. However, it’s amazing how long it took the pay-per-click idea to the pay-per-post. Of cause, once the idea’s out, it’s spreading like wild fire. ReviewMe is the latest pay-per-post startup.
In nutshell, you get paid to blog someone’s product. ReviewMe is different from others is that they require the blogs state that the content is paid. Like this one, the following is a paid review.
The earlier pay-per-post startups blurred the line between original content providers and hired gun. ReviewMe came out to address that issue. My opinion is that if it’s not ReviewMe, sooner or later, someone, may be the big brother, will do it.
The ReviewMe’s UI is very clean and simple. Once sign up, you can submit your blog to get approval to be able to write post for a price. ReviewMe is eating their own dog food too. You can write a review for them for $20.
The idea of cause is the more popular blog will demand bigger payoff. But the question is, do those big bloggers willing to mix their content with advertisement? How far the advertisement driven web will go?
Google and Yahoo never mixed the pay-pay-click ads into their main search results, for good reasons. Bloggers live in a wild wide west world and they may not care that much about the scale the Google league would worry about. So, advertiser might indeed be able to get better bang from the bucks with ReviewMe type of services.
