Sun’s JavaFX to take on AJAX, Flash and Silverlight

Reported by InfoWorld, Sun will announce the java based scripting tool family called JavaFX, which will directly compete with AJAX and Microsoft Silverlight.
- It’s a scripting language
- it’s focusing on content-authoring and content creation.
- It’ runs from desktop to mobile device, of cause where is Java installed.
- It focuses on user experience (aka RIA)
- “It’s not procedural language..it’s much easier to user”
- It’ll be open soured.
- It’s leverages 2D API in Swing
- It’s java under the hood but doesn’t looks like.
So far we know that JavaFX is another RIA product, a major one, competing with AJAX, Flash and Silverlight. However, Sun seems trying their best to avoid using the same marketing terms as Adobe Flash, where Microsoft almost copied all the tag lines.
This will be big a boost to Java community, after all the successfully attacks from AJAX, Flash, Ruby on Rails crowds these years.
