I thought finically the whole iPhone thing could be quiet down after the Saturday’s open. OMG, it actually just started. There are iPhone box opening photos everywhere, and tips from how-to-turn-it-on to how-to-delete-email are flood the blogsphere again. All of sudden the iPhone owners are all becoming giggling little girls and boys and indulging themselves with all the trivial details about their shining little toys. you know what, if I don’t have my N95 I might got a iPhone as well, as a die hard gadgeter. But I bought N95 with good reasons. One is to find out how Flash Lite fairing with other mobile application frameworks/OSs/platforms such as J2ME, BREW and S60. Besides BREW from Qualcomm I careless, I’ve a almost all-in-one box with N95. Along with all the development tools and applications available, There are way many things I can be experimenting with N95. iPhone, it’s just a toy, a cool toy I should say.
Anyway, not sure how seriously Adobe is taking on Flash Lite. With all the smartphone crazing (iPhone helps too), mobile-will-be-huge finally will be getting bigger. But Flash Lite right now is still a built from Flash 7 and only supports with ActionScript 1.1/2. I’m really looking for technologies that can build RIA application working online (Adobe Flex 2), offline (Adobe AIR) and then goes mobile (Flash Lite), WITHOUT code change and porting (may be just little). Microsoft and Sun are very close to get to that. I’d love to see where Adobe goes with all the flashing gears.
