    What does this have to do with RIA or Flex?

    They are related.

    Good RIA system comes from 50% design with artistic touch and 50% programming. Many would say programming is art too. The reason Flash/Flex has and will continue having good lead over Silverlight and JavaFX is because Flash has substantial size of artistic designer based. You might be able to turn a smart designer to a programmer but it will be hard go vise versa. Most of RIA system, especially their UIs share the same types of (amount of) elements. But some are more appealing than others. It’s the design (or arrangement) of the UI elements create positive and attractive illusion to human perceptions and mind.

    So, my friend, illusion art has a lot to do with RIA and Flex. We can learn and get inspired from them.
