While it’s getting colder everyday here at northern California, our neighborhood startup Facebook is getting hotter every moment you turn your attention to it.
By now you should have known the term Social Graph. It’s crafted by the Facebook crowd and represents complex social environment and rich social data. You won’t pass a day lately without hearing a new Facebook application got released. For that matter, you won’t be surprised I show you a Flex based Facebook application, called Mosoto.
Mosoto is claimed to be a new way to share and connect with your facebook friends. With Mosoto you can easily share files, chat with friends and discover people and media in your social network. Also it mashups box.net too to allow store the media over there.
So really Mosoto is a RIA UI application that outsource its social network to facebook, and data storage to Box.net. Not bad a approach.
I tried it. Well, I would say it’s a good attempt but there are more works need to be done. Media and chatting is a very very crowded area. Good UI or to-be good UI won’t impact too much to the success. I think RIA people should be more creative out side of UI.

I agree a great User Experience is what is going to differentiate a flash/flex facebook app from an awesome facebook app. We’re working on one ( http://apps.facebook.com/chirpscreen/ ) that hope to do just that. We’re going the screensaver direction to start with we’ll see how it goes.
VirtPresenter is also a Facebook application that is completely written in Flex. It’s main goal is to bring lectures and seminars to the internet and have facebook users interact with each other while they consume the content. Users can watch videos while a PowerPoint presentation is displayed as it was when the lecture was held. The users interface is very responsive for it runs in the Adobe Flash Player Plug-in.
Users can make notes on the timeline and share them with other users.
Although the content is only in german right now, it is worth to take a look at it, because other content producers will be come soon. The app can be found here: http://apps.facebook.com/virtpresenter/
