I wrote about fonts before because regardless what type applications you are developing, it’s the fonts that speak the words. Now we’ve got Flex 3 and AIR 1 out in the wild. I can see all those downloads will churn out loads of applications that will be mostly called “RIA” apps. In moment like this we really need to take an another pass at the very basic, font. The place called Typetester can be just the tool you need for that.
Simply put, at Typetester you can visually and thoroughly test the fonts you’d like to use and generate the CSS from the result.
The site itself is a good example of elegant and functional UI design. There is no guess work on you get there. You can test three fonts with all the CSS attributes adjustable, size, leading, tracking, alignment, color, word space, background, decoration, you name it. You can provide your own text for the test or use the default. The result will shown in more than 10 variation formats so all together you will have more than 30 visual substances right in front of you. For picking font, I don’t think any more help you’d need.
