Create Flash Banner using Powerpoint with one click

Posted by Charles | August 2, 2007 .

You would think Microsoft Powerpoint is something far from Adobe Flash. But the guys at Slideware married them very well. I wrote about Slideware before. Now they are rolling out new features. They started with translating Powerpoint into Flash presentation, now they extend the site to use powerpoint create Flash banner, not just presentation anymore. I would think there won’t be too much of big change in term of backend technologies. But the notion of “create flash with powerpoint” is very appealing for people know powerpoint better but not whole lot about Flash, not alone develop a animated Flash banner.

Below is one of the example.

Banner created entirely in PowerPoint and embedded in autoplay mode

I think it’s a very clear business approach. Just think about it. Microsoft will continue improve Powerpoint’s visual capability. There are lots of people make good living by using powerpoint whole day in their jobs and they are getting very good at it. This Slideware business can just ride alone with Powerpoint. Just as they’ve done already, add a button inside the Powerpoint and with one click, the content is on Slideware server. We all know now, Content counts.
