DIY Sourcing to Revives a Laptop

Posted by Charles | January 2, 2008 .

As it’s said, “you got what you paid for.” I bought a cheap laptop at last year’s Thanksgiving door buster. Then one day, the laptop decided that the screen was too big for me. It added a three inches wide blackout area at right side of the screen. All of sudden the 14″ laptop became about 8″ one. Man, it’s hard to use it when all the software still think the screen is big enough for display everything. That’s how I started the journey to find a place for Laptop Parts.

It’s the site called Spare Parts Warehouse I ended up found I need. It’s a very neat place actually. At the Laptop LCD Screens & Laptop Screens area, I can put in search term or provide the vendor and series information. The result will list the matched the parts.

For the DIR approach I use, the best part is the site gives instruction on how to remove and installed the laptop screen. The instruction goes step by step and gives all the details. I can’t do it without knowing how to remove the broken one, not along install a new one.

Besides the laptop screen this site has pretty much all types of laptop parts from AC Adapters to even system boards. I think as long as you don’t mind getting your hands dirty, you can keep your laptop live for a long time by sourcing the parts from here.
