RIA Runs Faster on XP Than on Leopard
Here is a story that can send Mac maniacs and Firefox fanatics in a tizzy.
GUIMark’s results show that IE7 renders HTML faster than Firefox 2, Opera 9.27 and Safari 3. Based on the average frame rate, WinXP also beat Macintosh OS X 10.5 “Leopard” in Flex 3, Java 5 Swing, Silverlight 1, and Silverlight 2 Beta.
GUIMark is a benchmark test suite designed to compare the rendering systems of several popular UI runtimes. The project is inspired by Bubblemark, which the man behind GUIMark thinks is a poor UI benchmark.
