Look into the Silverlight!

Posted by Jay | June 5, 2008 .

If you’ve visited the Microsoft web site in the past couple of months then you will probably already know about Silverlight. Just in case you’re not aware what it is, it’s Microsoft’s answer for Flash. It is a very powerful framework which enables developers to create Rich Internet applications (RIA’s).

Silverlight is still in Beta testing, which means it is not released for public use. Microsoft is preparing to release the Beta 2 version of Silverlight which has many useful changes.

One of the biggest changes in Silverlight Beta 2 is to make it look and behave more like the Windows UI (WPF). However this has had a side effect of changing some of the other features.

Rich Internet Applications are changing the way that we use the internet, they are making it much more interesting and exciting to use.

In Microsoft’s own words, light up the web with Silverlight! Learn more about Silverlight Beta 2, which will be available for download from Microsoft’s official Silverlight site when it is launched.

Microsoft is hardly an IT company… it’s a marketing-company with primary goal to increase income over innovation.
As they prove over and over again.
Flash/Flex is cool? Everyone likes it? Everyone has it? Damn we should have invented it. Let’s copy them and call it silverlight, for our .NET developers developers developers.
