We have finally reached the momentous day. Sports buffs across the world will be breaking their heads to keep track of all their favorite events and results. I wish that by the next Olympics they can all have access to their versions of Olimpics.cat.
Featured as the App of the Week in Adobe Flextv’s first episode, Olimpics.cat is a real time tracking app for nearly 140 players from Catalonia, Spain, participating in Olympic and Paralympic Beijing 2008 Summer Games (the latter held between 6th and 17th of September 2008).
I don’t understand Catalan (and neither does Google), so I couldn’t figure out much by browsing the beautiful flash site. But the keywords suggest the following: the web application tracks the schedule of events in all sports categories, and provides real time news coverage. Until the competition begins we can see the players who are going to participate, their best recent results and in some cases a personal video presentation explaining what they are expecting from or how they are preparing for the event.
Players, coaches and journalists involved in the project can update the system with the latest news, live results, and personal impressions before and during the competition.
Even those who are linguistically my kind can check out the website. It looks so pleasant and vibrant.

Following the olympics track the http://www.olimpics.cat site now started with the Beijing Paralympics Games. Don’t forget this great -true sportists- people.
There is a lot of activity now after the games began.
Hi Sravan, you may like to take a look at some screenshots of the site’s Content Management System:

That’s cool, Francesc. Thanks for the glimpse into their CMS.
