Widgets are in.
Sprout clubs all widgets, mini-sites, banners, mashups and other rich media Web content under one category called “Sprouts”, and provides an awesome platfrom called Sprout Builder to build, publish and manage these sprouts. These sprouts, which are just Flash content, can be embedded on any social media sites with a single click, and any website with a copy+paste.
This is a welcome opportunity for individuals and small businesses to market themselves better investing a little bandwidth and time.
Watch the video below for a sprout building demo.
NOTE: This is their first ever demo, released way back in Jan, 2008. Check out recent videos in the “Related Videos” section.
Looks easy, doesn’t it? Other than providing a lot of cool features, Sprout makes another nice gesture by allowing users to get started without creating an account. (Tired of the umpteen accounts that I can’t/won’t keep track of, I love this.) Use a guest account, and only if you’re going somewhere with the sprout can you choose to create a Standard/Pro account.
Released over seven months ago, Sprout Builder is creating a buzz once again on the event of its FanKits service, which is a huge huge development. FanKits enable entertainment and media companies to connect and promote their branded content to consumers by allowing fans to create and share branded widgets within social media sites.
