Update 11-27-06: Beginning Ruby on Rails is released.

Between now and 2007 new year’s day, there are a pile of Ruby on Rails books coming out. Haven’t seen this kinda things for a long time. You don’t need me to interpret it. Here are all Ruby on Rails books I can find, published or not:

Agile Web Development with Rails: A Pragmatic Guide (Pragmatic Programmers) Agile Web Development with Rails: A Pragmatic Guide (Pragmatic Programmers)This is almost the bible of Ruby on Rails. It had been the only show in town for long time and I’m sure every RoR developer or wannabe has it. Believe or now, the 2nd edition is out soon. I enjoyed this book reluctantly because lack of other resources. I recommend you get one even though it’s a bit hard to follow the concepts of RoR for beginers and not easily take it as a reference book at corner of your desk.
Ruby on Rails: Up and Running Ruby on Rails: Up and RunningThis is a very thin book. Only 169 pages. But it’s extremely well formatted and helpful. Once you’ve gone through a little project to have a taste of Ruby on Rails, pick up this book is very refreshing. It’s a quick reference book. Must have it.
Ruby for Rails: Ruby Techniques for Rails Developers Ruby for Rails: Ruby Techniques for Rails DevelopersThis is the 2nd Ruby on Rails book published. I believe it tried to address problem of the Agile one. It’s very helpful if you are not Ruby developer, rather, you are Java, PHP or other language guys. It talks about a lot of fundamental topic directly relate to Rub. You are new to Ruby and seriously working on it because of Ruby on Rail, buy this book. It answers many questions encountered when playing with Ruby on Rails.
