Calling All RIA Students

Posted by Sravan | September 4, 2008 .

If you are outgoing and organized, love RIAs and know Flex/AIR, this is an opportunity you might not want to miss.

Adobe is looking for eligible students to represent RIAs – to represent Adobe’s RIA technologies to be precise. The eligibility criteria aren’t demanding, nor are the responsibilities. The role comes with an attractive package of rewards.

If chosen as an Adobe Student Rep for RIAs, all you need to do is talk with other students. Talk about RIAs, Flex, and AIR, about the Flex Builder (which students can get for free through www.flexregistration.com), about ideas for RIAs and the coveted Adobe Design Achievement Awards, and about career opportunities in RIAs at Adobe.

Apart from rich points in your résumé, community recognition and funding for approved events, you will also have access to various Adobe resources, a CS3 Web/CS3 Design Premium (upon organizing an event), and more importantly the enviable chance to network with the Adobe Flex and AIR teams.

If you are a full-time student at a university interested in RIA technologies, you can apply for the position by registering with Flex.org. I’m sorry I haven’t come across this announcement sooner. Please find the complete details on Flex.org.

Honestly, I work professionally in Silicon Valley in RIAs, and it all started with one of the Students at University who introduced it to us in class, about 1 and a half year ago.

I must admit, it’s extremely rewarding.

Sounds great, Joseph. Thanks for sharing it.

It would be very helpful if you can share an outline of that experience in greater detail.
