

EarthScape, the iPhone App that brings Google Earth to your iPhones, is being offered for free for a “limited time”. The performance might be underwhelming, but that’s only because it has been TechCrunched by Michael Arrington. (I am not sure whether the offer is still open.)

<head> is a first of its kind web conference, not just because of its environment-friendly nature but the software being used. “The event itself will be run using Adobe Flash Media Interactive Server and a setup provided by Influxis run using Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro, hosted at Adobe. Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro is a really solid Flex-based app from Adobe for holding virtual meetings, and conferences. We previously used it to great success for holding the Open Source Flash conferences,” says Aral Balkan, the head of <head>. Jens of FlashGamer interviewed him for the Flash Magazine. The conf covers a wide range of topics including web standards, accessibility, web application development, Flash, Flex, and scalability.
Lastly, Google is literally taking its data centers offshore. They hope to save tax money, electricity (using wave energy), and store all the data they collect from us outside the jurisdiction of governments. I am deeply interested in how this turns out.
