

According to Skyhook Wireless over 300 Apple iPhone apps are location-aware as of October 3rd. That seems a big number for two years old iPhone, However, according to Mobclix there are over 4,000 apps in circulation. That makes only less than 10% of iPhone applications are location aware.
From chart, the Social Networking, Local Search and Navigation Categories represent over 50% of the apps. Social Networking includes Twitter clients and friend finders like Whrrl and Pelago. Therefor, if we are talking about GeoWeb, the king of cool iPhone is still in the GeoWeb 1.0 age. Pretty much 99% of them are varies ways of showing the dots on the map.
