Adobe Flash Player 10

Posted by Sravan | October 15, 2008 .

Adobe Flash Player 10Adobe released Flash Player 10 this morning. As part of updating the product home page, they went a little overboard and wrote:

Adobe® Flash® Player 10 software is a cross-platform browser plug-in that delivers breakthrough web experiences and is installed on more than 98% of Internet-connected desktops.

Anyway, the new version comes with a lot of new features:
1. Streaming is faster than ever with streams that automatically adjust to changing network conditions.
2. Audio can be generated dynamically and supplied to the sound buffer.
3. Sound and mathematics functions can be processed by the Adobe Pixel Bender JIT compiler.
4. A new vector data typed array class can be used for better performance, efficiency, error checking of data.
5. 3D animations are easier to create, from 2D.
6. Multi-lingual RIAs using device fonts can be anti-aliased, rotated and styled.
7. Processing power of the graphics card can be utilized for greater performance.

I faced a few problems during installation. When I installed the first two times, the result page still said that v9.0.124.0 has been successfully installed and continued to suggest me to install Flash Player 10. The version number got updated, however. A restart and a reinstall solved the issue.

I am using Adobe Flash Player 10x with the plug in which is required. Every time I run a spyware scan on my computer, flash payer and the plug-in are removed. Then of course I have to reinstall it, is there anyway this can be overcome. Your assistane will be greatly appreciated!

Sorry for the delayed reply, Jim. Which spyware are you using? And what is the exact version of your Flash Player 10?

I’m just speculating here. Some security softwares like the Secunia PSI scan the system to see whether all installed softwares are of the latest version or not, as older versions could have security vulnerabilities. It is possible that a very high security setting would uninstall any older versions of a software. You could check whether it is possible to lower the settings.
