JFXRacing is a racing game created using JavaFX script. Like many arcade games and tiny Flash games, it can be quite addictive, and is especially helpful in fighting Friday boredom. I could get away with a, “I’m getting a feel of the JavaFX UI,” whenever a colleague dropped by my cube.
It isn’t explicitly named anywhere, but I’m guessing that the game is called “JFXRacing”. Strictly speaking, the game isn’t a race. There is just the user’s car zooming around an F1 circuit to beat its own previous best. For that reason, there aren’t any menus or options to restart a lap or reset all timings.
A layperson like me wouldn’t be able to tell whether it is an old Macromedia Flash game or a new JavaFX game. To that extent, the look is quite plain. That is not to be taken as a judgement of JavaFX, since its creator developed the game in his attempt to get familiar with JavaFX. Alois Stritzinger is a university teacher and leisure-time programmer.
You can launch JFXRacing from here. It requires Java 6.0 runtime. I don’t understand why we need to be online to launch the game. (We can go offline after the launch.)
Send your comments to Alois: a.stritzinger AT gmail DOT com. The skid marks made by the tires during a steep curve is a nice touch. And a ‘d’ is missing from “Skidding”.

Thanks for the nice example. I like to see what javafx could be in the game scene… But the source code would be a nice chrisman present…
Wish for a larger Xmas present, Rookee.
Coming to the source code of this nice little game, http://markmail.org/message/7igf2etk6hr3qcy7 has one old version, I think. For the most recent code, you can mail Alois directly: a.stritzing AT gmail DOT com. I’m sure he won’t mind.
