GeoWeb in Cloud

Mansure Raad had a very interesting post on how to create a Flex geoweb application using the Amazon S3 (the cloud). Several interesting tools he used:
- ESRI ArcGIS API for Flex - will be released to public soon
- Amazon S3 - If you don’t know what it is, shame on you. Heading here to regain your dignity.
- S3Fox - a Firfox extension for moving files to S3
What Mansure did was to move the map tiles into S3 and redirect the Flex application to retrieve the tiles from there.
This is a simple demo but it opens a big door for many possibilities. Just think about it, RIA (Flex) + GeoWeb + Cloud. Now only if you can add the Amazon EC2 into this equation, a whole new world will open to developers.
