Flash File Upload with Ruby on Rail

Posted by Moxie Zhang | March 2, 2007 .

Came across this article about multiple file upload with Flash and Ruby on Rails. I know File Upload is always most wanted feature to sites deal with media. And can’t you find any site is not deal with media this days, images, photos and videos?

This one use Flash as front end and Ruby on Rails at back end to do multiple file upload. I’d like to see someone makes this as a Rails plugin. That’ll be SO NICE. Or, incorporate this with those existing file related plugins such as acts as attachment, file column and flex image.

Also, some interesting quotes:

ALAX is cool but can you play MP3’s with it? No.

Can you Play Video with AJAX? No.

Upload files with AJAX? No*.

And most importantly can you make a 3D spinning LED thingy in AJAX? No 😛

I agree.
