Have You Visited the Adobe AIR Team Blog?

Posted by Sravan | November 25, 2008 .

The Adobe AIR team started blogging towards the end of the last month on their team blog. Most posts are by Rob Christensen, Adobe AIR’s PM, but others write as well. It is nice to see it being updated regularly, and it sometimes has news that you get nowhere else.

For instance, Rob reveals that he will be presenting a session on monetizing Adobe AIR apps during MAX in Milan. Cool. Then, that SitePen has Dojo extensions for Adobe AIR. The Adobe AIR 1.5 announcement, made around the time when it had been released during the MAX 2008 San Francisco, has a detailed feature overview, links to quick start guides and newly updated sample apps. Rob already covered the Tour de Flex app which I won’t talk about much yet because it is in my review pipeline.

More recently, the blog carried information about the MAX sessions: Maintain security with Adobe AIR and High Performance AIR Applications, along with slides and sample codes. That is as much MAX updates that I’ve got so far. And yeah, Google Maps API for Flash apparently supports Adobe AIR now. I won’t be surprised if AIR apps with Google Maps features in them surface next week.

The Adobe AIR team blog promises to be a good resource especially to obtain the latest AIR news, and we are all glad for that.
