Rounding up Thanksgiving Week

Posted by Sravan | December 1, 2008 .

I hope you and your loved ones all had a safe thanksgiving week. The Mumbai attacks, see? Google had been one of the many that had a really bad time in the light of these events. The Google ads on terrorism must’ve been embarrassing to say the least. The upside of this is that the users are definitely checking out these ads.

You may have noticed me grumbling about Flashmagazine taking too long to load after the recent changes in its design. Not any more. The new Flashmagazine is better than ever. Jens, the Flash Gamer, wrote a set of nine tutorials on Away3D and that is how I found out.

Speaking of tutorials, Duane Nickull and James Ward gave a 3.5 hour boot camp on Adobe AIR at the Adobe MAX 2008. The awesome aftermath is that Duane shared the complete material for download (over 100MB). This will be an excellent starting point for beginners. Thank you very very much, Duane.

More Adobe MAX 2008 news trickles in. During the conference, Adobe User Groups got a number of additional features from profiles to blogs to forums to events and job listings. It all looks very cool now. 15 user groups in India alone!

Starting tomorrow, we will feature a three-article series on KapInspect written by guest blogger Julien Revel. I hope you find it useful.

That course and another one are both available now at http://www.web2open.org/courses.html. Thank you for sharing the word. They total 8 hours of tutorials, teachers guides, starter and completed projects plus a custom build of BlazeDS using Apache Axis 1.4 SOAP stack (works with Flex Builder 3’s WSDL Inspection Wizard).

    Enjoy!
