Rounding up New Year Week

Posted by Sravan | January 5, 2009 .

Back from vacation everybody? My work has piled up so much that I am dreaming about a magic charm during the winks I am able to manage. Not all took a vacation apparently. Some hardworking people leaked Windows 7 Demo and phished Twitter while we were away. Good for Microsoft and Twitter, don’t you think? Aral demanded Twitter to implement oAuth while I pondered about some problems that people will face on Twitter.

Ryan Stewart learnt C# and played with Flash Catalyst during the vacation. That became useful to us because he shares some performance tips when using Flash Catalyst that he learnt from Cory West.

James Weaver, the JavaFXpert, is playing with his website design for this happy new year. He was looking for feedback a few days ago. I don’t think he will mind it if you have anything to say even now.

I have two tidbits from our readers this week. Tzvi reports that it is now possible to create a Google Visualization compliant data source feed that can be read by visualizations. Cool. And Ed suggests to try increasing screen resolution to fix some problems with the Adobe website. I run my displays in the highest possible resolution by default so I can’t confirm or contradict Ed’s tip. Can any of you, please? I am desperate for fixes at this moment and this still won’t work for me.

The week was mostly calm in the RIA blogosphere. Understandable. Here is one last link: An interesting read about AJAX remaining a preferred RIA platform for government projects.
