The State of Flex Development Ecosystem Reviewed

Posted by Moxie Zhang | January 11, 2010 .

I spent some time last weekend went over my weaponry cache for Flex development and put out a post on InfoQ.com that reviewed current state of Flex development ecosystem. Go check it out.
I did missed couple of great Flex tools:

FunFx is Flex testing tools that uses Ruby to write the test script. It’s fun and [...]

Heading to MAX

Posted by Charles | October 3, 2009 .

Heading to Adobe MAX 2009 in LA. Started downloading BYOL (bring your own laptop) sessions’ assets. Adobe is certainly creative company so that I won’t be surprised the Adobe MAX Companion created for MAX goers, a AIR application where you can twit, check your session and find locations in the convention center.

Only one problem though, [...]

Rounding Up Last Week

Posted by Sravan | August 31, 2009 .

Bhuvan, India’s Google Earth Killer, for the time being sucks. For now they have the excuses of the terrorist scare and the implications on national security of open access to hi-res geospatial data.
While Silverlight scored another win in the sports industry which I won’t report, the Adobe AIR is excited about MLB.com’s OnBase, the AIR [...]

Resurrection of AIR App Nomee

Posted by Sravan | August 28, 2009 .

Nomee is an AIR app that attempts to be a one-stop-shop for all social networking. Similar to Skimmer, I initially thought. Back in April when it had entered public beta, I was unimpressed. The concept of Nomee cards was quite confusing and the need to explicitly share cards with friends soured the experience. Three months [...]

What is in Adobe AIR 2.0?

Posted by Sravan | August 26, 2009 .

Rob Christensen’s mention of Adobe AIR 2.0 in his list of AIR-related sessions coming to Adobe MAX 2009 sent me in a frenzy that took me nowhere. Adobe AIR 2.0 is codenamed ‘Athena’.
Arno Gourdol gave a ‘demo’ of AIR 2.0 in the San Fancisco FlashCamp back in May where the only feature he unveiled [...]

Rounding Up the MAX Widget Week

Posted by Sravan | August 24, 2009 .

The entire blogosphere is abuzz with the Adobe MAX widget that Serge Jespers made. I am not able to embed it in this post.
Be sure to update your Flex apps to use the 3.4 SDK. It contains a fix to a critical security bug that could cause [...]

Rounding Up Social Media Outage Week

Posted by Sravan | August 10, 2009 .

Many developers are increasingly working on Android apps. Now that Apple’s App Rejection pseudocode has been exposed. I have seen only two applications of pseudocode so far: interviews and jokes.
Ryan has examples to prove that the latest release Adobe AIR 1.5.2 is in fact more than what I previously called “a minor update… which includes [...]

Rounding Up The Microsoft-Yahoo! Week

Posted by Sravan | August 3, 2009 .

Adobe released a minor update of Adobe AIR, version 1.5.2, which includes some reliability, compatibility and security related bug fixes.
Having had enough with the bullying, Aral Balkan is taking some serious steps to fight Sys-Con. A minor victory already. Bravo! He seeks our help and I request you on his behalf. I am reluctant to [...]
