There are this IronMonkey open source project that will enable Flash development using language rather than ActionScript. Here is another one, HotRuby.
HotRuby is a Ruby VM written JavaScript (yes, it’s odd and interesting), which runs opcode compiled by YARV.

Intuit’s flexy PaaS
